Immanuel James Ibe-Anyanwu
Immanuel has been published in Daily Independent, The Nation, The Punch,
Premium Times, Bella Naija, Brittle Paper, and across several other national and continental platforms. He discusses
nation building and youth development, advocating a shift in sociological thought patterns among black people.
A sociopolitical activist, he leverages social media to drive conversations on how to deepen the
Nigerian civic culture. He is also a music journalist with Music in Africa.
As a developmental journalist, he has covered several issues regarding power abuse among state actors in Nigeria, including
nsightful reports on the plights of residents of Otodo-Gbame and Ijora Badia, communities demolished
by the Lagos government.
He has collaborated with Spaces for Change and Youth Development on key developmental projects,
including writing research reports on “Closing Civic Spaces in Nigeria” and the Homegrown School Feeding
Programme of the Nigerian government.
Immanuel is head of Planex Finishing Nig. Ltd., a company providing technical and house-finishing support to homes and
construction companies in Nigeria. He is a member of several community forums that are seeking to build value
and develop their spaces using local talent and resource.
