Akinkunmi O. Akinlade

Akinkunmi O. Akinlade is a medical doctor, multiple award-winning platform speaker, youth development expert, writer, thought leader and public health enthusiast. He is the founder of Kings and Leaders Network, a non-profit that provides career and transformational leadership and guidance to African youths. He has produced hundreds of leaders doing excellently well in their various careers.

He is currently the Medical Director of Kings Central Hospital, Ota, Ogun State Nigeria where he leads the health team, focusing on the provision of affordable healthcare to members of the community and regular health promotion activities, including free immunization for children, hypertension and diabetes screening, regular eye tests and highly subsidized antenatal care for pregnant women.

He was the winner of the Ogun State World Environmental Essay competition few years ago, which earned him a place in SDG advocacy. He was also a key panelist on the 2020 Africa Sustainable Development Goals Summit where he spoke extensively and convincingly on the steps Africa can take to achieve the SDGs in 2030 by closing the existing economic and education gaps between them and developed countries. Currently, he is also the Nigeria Representative of the Sustainable Development Goal 3 Global Health Initiative, affiliated with the UNESCO Centre for Peace.

He is a member of the Rotary International District 9110, Nigeria and was among the top three winners of the 2020 International Rotary-Rotaract Debate held on 18th October, 2020, which earned him a cash award that was used to cater for the needs of some children unable to afford school uniforms and sandals.

After having a first class in his first year in the Department of Physiology, He crossed over to bag his Bachelor of Medicine and urgery (MBBS) degree from the prestigious University of Ibadan, where he represented the Faculty of Clinical Sciences at various public speaking competitions, winning several awards.

He has a certificate (with distinction) in Leadership and Management in Health from the University of Washington in 2018. He also ds certificates in The Economics of Health Care Delivery and Health Care Innovation from the University of Pennsylvania.

He is committed to making accessible and affordable healthcare available to Africans, especially at the grassroots level, having the understanding that, to compete globally, the health and wellbeing of Africans is not negotiable.

Having a firm understanding that the generational prosperity of Africa rests solely on the shoulders of children and the youths, Akinkunmi volunteers at many youth empowerment programs and events and has changed the lives of many of his audience through his yearly Speak and Lead Conferences.
